Cecilia Michelle Argueta Melendez

Programs Manager

Michelle Argueta is a development economist who is passionate about global health, the development of individuals and communities, and contributing to social justice. Michelle is the Programs Manager at Global Health Action and is based in El Salvador. She has experience in public and global health, digital health, and data analysis for development research projects in the Global South. Michelle previously served as a GHA intern in the Programs Assistant role and Research Assistant for RWI – Leibniz Institute for Economic Research. She is a graduate of the University of Mannheim (BSc) and the University of Goettingen (MSc), Germany.



Charsey Cherry

Community Systems Strengthening Advisor

Dr. Charsey Cherry is a dedicated professional with extensive experience working in public health promotion, education, training, program development and evaluation. He has successfully managed complex research programs funded by the National Institutes for Health implemented domestically and internationally and is an author of over 70 peer-reviewed articles. With a passion for serving disadvantaged and marginalized communities and individuals, he has formed collaborations and partnerships to advance health promotion programs and public health practices. He is a U.S. Air Force veteran and has worked with county and state health departments, academic institutions, federal health agencies, community organizations, and in military settings. He is a graduate of Southern Illinois University (BS), Rollins School of Public Health at Emory University (MPH), and Arnold School of Public Health at the University of South Carolina (DrPH).

Mirlaine Joannis

Haiti Healthy Mothers|Healthy Babies Lead

Mirlaine Joannis, the head nurse at the Olivier Health Center (the main referral center for the traditional birth attendants (TBAs) in Petit-Goâve commune). Mrs. Joannis is a native of Petit-Goâve and has been the head nurse at the Olivier Center since 1996. She is a tireless advocate of the importance of community health work and offers training and supervision to the cohort of 56 TBAs in the community since 2006. The Olivier Health Center is operated by the Methodist Church of Haiti, a long time Global Health Action partner

Wendy Jolley-Kabi

President & CEO

Wendy Jolley-Kabi, GHA’s President and CEO, is an experienced leader of international health and development organizations. She has a proven track record engaging diverse stakeholders in responding to emerging challenges around the globe and is committed to supporting the transformational knowledge and creativity of local communities. Wendy graduated from Converse College with a double BA in Political Science and Religion and earned her MPA from Villanova University. She is also a graduate of the Montgomery College Nonprofit Leadership Institute and served as a Peace Corps Volunteer. Fueled by a passion for social justice, Wendy is committed to making our world a more equitable place for all.

N’Faly Keita

Health Systems Strengthening Advisor

Dr. N’faly Keita is a primary care physician, global health professional and, a recently certified project management professional from Mali in West Africa who is passionate about promoting health equity as well as leadership development. Since 2015, he has been working to improve MCH outcomes in poorly-resourced communities in Mali by helping mothers and children under 5 years get access to quality and affordable healthcare services. Dr. Keita recently served as a GHA Intern in the Monitoring and Evaluation role with previous experience working with several US and UN organizations on Health Systems Strengthening projects such as the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, USAID, WHO, Maternity Care Coalition, among others. A Fulbright Scholar and Mandela Washington Civic Leadership Fellow, Dr. Keita is a graduate of Georgia State University’s School of Public Health (MPH), École Nationale de Médecine et de Pharmacie du Mali, Mali (MD) and additionally completed graduate certificates from Georgia State University (Maternal and Child Health) and McGill University’s Institute of Global Health, Canada (Health Systems Strengthening and Global Governance).

Bwalya Mubanga

Monitoring, Evaluation & Learning Advisor

Bwalya Mubanga has extensive experience operating in various roles within USAID-funded projects, including Director of Monitoring and Evaluation/Government Liaison Officer for USAID/DATA Rising, Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning Advisor for USAID/AGIS, and Monitoring and Evaluation Specialist for USAID/Access for All. He contributed to successful proposals for projects such as USAID/Databanks, Lifeline International-Suicide Prevention, and National HIV/AIDS/STI Council. Additionally, he participated in regional meetings and data collection activities as part of the national team representing Zambia at Southern African Development Community (SADC). He has a Postgraduate qualification from Stellenbosch University with a minor in Monitoring and Evaluation and Research.

Brielle Berkowitz

 Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning Intern

Brielle is a global health practitioner with expertise in data analysis, program evaluation, and infectious disease prevention. She has contributed to research on tuberculosis, gender-based violence, and cancer. With experience in both qualitative and quantitative methodologies, Brielle is committed to using data-driven approaches to inform public health policy and improve health         outcomes



Helena El Khalil

Health Policy, Research, and Advocacy Intern

Helena is a Master of Public Health (MPH) graduate with a strong passion for health policy and advocacy. With experience spanning multiple industries, Helena has worked on strategic initiatives that drive impactful change, particularly in healthcare accessibility and post-conflict recovery. Her interests include healthcare in war zone aftermath and vaccination programs, reflecting a deep commitment to global health equity. Through this internship at Global Health Action, Helena aims to contribute to meaningful policy solutions that improve healthcare systems and community resilience.



Yasmeen Hummeida

Yasmeen Hummeida is a pharmacist who graduated from the University of Medical Sciences and Technology, Sudan. She is involved in multiple public health and wellness initiatives through research and digital education. She is currently a Health Policy, Research, and Advocacy intern at Global Health Action.





Fatima Jaber

Monitoring, Evaluation & Learning Intern 

Fatima is a dedicated public health professional with a strong background in crisis management, strategic planning, and community health promotion. Currently pursuing a Master’s in Public Health at the Université de Montréal, she has extensive experience coordinating emergency operations and managing strategic projects. Fatima has worked as a medical representative and has volunteered with the Lebanese Red Cross, where she played a key role in crisis response and donation management. Passionate about global health and community engagement, she is committed to making a meaningful impact through innovative health initiatives and advocacy.


Hannatu Favour Kachiro

Health Policy, Research, and Advocacy Intern

Hannatu is an Obstetrics and Gynaecology Resident Doctor and a dedicated Global Health professional. She holds an MBBS from Ahmadu Bello University, Nigeria, and an MSc in Global Health Policy from the University of Edinburgh, Scotland. With extensive experience in providing specialized clinical care to women and newborns, Hannatu is passionate about maternal and child health. She has also trained, mentored, and monitored community healthcare workers in delivering maternal, reproductive, and newborn health services. Hannatu strongly believes in leveraging quality research and data to inform evidence-based policies that address global maternal and child health disparities.

Sunaina Khan

Monitoring, Evaluation & Learning Intern 

Sunaina (BSMT Respiratory Therapy) is a healthcare professional and advocate specializing in climate change and sustainable development in healthcare. She created an online course on healthcare sustainability at OE4BW and participated in international programs like FXB Climate Advocates and Femme Lex Cohort. Her team won Climate Hack 2024 with a climate finance solution. She speaks English, Urdu, and Korean.




Mike Mwale 

Monitoring, Evaluation & Learning Intern

Mike is a dedicated global health professional with expertise in Monitoring, Evaluation, Research, and Learning (MERL). He holds a Master’s in Public Health (MPH) and has extensive experience in public health programs, particularly in HIV, Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) and in climate change and health. He is passionate about global health equity, where he contributes his expertise in evidence-based program evaluation and implementation research to advance public health interventions worldwide.

Bianca Nkwocha

Leadership and Organizational Development Intern

A physiologist and project manager, Bianca is passionate about advancing health outcomes through research, sustainable practices, and community impact. Her experience includes drug research focusing on plant-based treatments for infertility and other reproductive ailments. Bianca has led impactful projects addressing public health challenges such as sexual and reproductive health and mental health. She has collaborated with nonprofit organizations to improve lives. Biana is dedicated to driving positive change through research, advocacy, and sustainable development initiatives

Nanahawau Ahuoiza Salihu

Monitoring, Evaluation & Learning Intern

Nanahawau is a Nigerian pharmacist with a passion for academia and health research. She is committed to addressing healthcare disparities by translating research findings into evidence-based interventions that improve health outcomes. Her research experience includes standardizing immune-boosting herbal medicine used to alleviate COVID-19 symptoms. Nanahawau enjoys utilizing healthcare data analytics to enhance research that drives positive changes in health. 


Osama Talafha

Digital Marketing Intern

Osama is a Jordanian electrical engineering student at the University of Jordan, currently establishing his own digital marketing agency. With a background in business from his family’s enterprise and experience as a project manager on a recent project, Osama brings a blend of practical and managerial expertise to his venture. His volunteer work as an ambassador for the King Hussein Cancer Center has also equipped him with strong communication and leadership skills, further enhancing his commitment to impactful and meaningful projects. Osama is passionate about supporting awareness campaigns on the dangers of smoking and hopes to collaborate with policymakers who enforce public smoking restrictions. He believes community engagement can drive cultural change toward a healthier, smoke-free environment. This focus is driven by his experience with cancer patients and survivors.
