Michelle Argueta is a development economist who is passionate about global health, the development of individuals and communities, and contributing to social justice. Michelle is the Programs Manager at Global Health Action. She has experience in public and global health, digital health, and data analysis for development research projects in the Global South. Michelle previously served as a GHA intern in the Programs Assistant role and Research Assistant for RWI – Leibniz Institute for Economic Research. She is a graduate of the University of Mannheim (BSc) and the University of Goettingen (MSc), Germany.

Gwendolyne Ayiera

Freelance Data and Communication Specialist 

Gwendolyne Ayiera is a passionate youth leader and the founder of Fuma Africa, an organization advancing Child Education, Empowerment, and Innovation. She holds a degree in Clinical Medicine and Community Health, with a strong background in outreach, advocacy, and youth engagement. Gwendolyne champions children’s inclusivity, Sexual & Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) advocacy, and evidence-based medical research. She has held leadership roles in national platforms such as the Clinical Medicine Students Association of Kenya, Usawa Health Foundation, and Kenya Ni Mimi. Her work is driven by a commitment to build inclusive, informed, and empowered communities across Kenya. Gwendolyne served as a Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning Intern at GHA in Summer 2025.

Charsey Cherry

Community Systems Strengthening Advisor

Dr. Charsey Cherry is a dedicated professional with extensive experience working in public health promotion, education, training, program development and evaluation. He has successfully managed complex research programs funded by the National Institutes for Health implemented domestically and internationally and is an author of over 70 peer-reviewed articles. With a passion for serving disadvantaged and marginalized communities and individuals, he has formed collaborations and partnerships to advance health promotion programs and public health practices. He is a U.S. Air Force veteran and has worked with county and state health departments, academic institutions, federal health agencies, community organizations, and in military settings. He is a graduate of Southern Illinois University (BS), Rollins School of Public Health at Emory University (MPH), and Arnold School of Public Health at the University of South Carolina (DrPH).

Mirlaine Joannis

Haiti Healthy Mothers|Healthy Babies Lead

Mirlaine Joannis, the head nurse at the Olivier Health Center (the main referral center for the traditional birth attendants (TBAs) in Petit-Goâve commune). Mrs. Joannis is a native of Petit-Goâve and has been the head nurse at the Olivier Center since 1996. She is a tireless advocate of the importance of community health work and offers training and supervision to the cohort of 56 TBAs in the community since 2006. The Olivier Health Center is operated by the Methodist Church of Haiti, a long time Global Health Action partner.

Wendy Jolley-Kabi

President & CEO

Wendy Jolley-Kabi, GHA’s President and CEO, is an experienced leader of international health and development organizations. She has a proven track record engaging diverse stakeholders in responding to emerging challenges around the globe and is committed to supporting the transformational knowledge and creativity of local communities. Wendy graduated from Converse College with a double BA in Political Science and Religion and earned her MPA from Villanova University. She is also a graduate of the Montgomery College Nonprofit Leadership Institute and served as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Lesotho. Wendy’s passion for global health equity stems from a career across social justice, community development, and child protection work. She is dedicated to creating new ways of supporting and amplifying the voices of frontline global health practitioners, believing this is the key to transforming health for communities that are most often    ignored.

N’Faly Keita

Health Systems Strengthening Advisor

Dr. N’faly Keita is a primary care physician, global health professional and, a recently certified project management professional from Mali in West Africa who is passionate about promoting health equity as well as leadership development. Since 2015, he has been working to improve MCH outcomes in poorly-resourced communities in Mali by helping mothers and children under 5 years get access to quality and affordable healthcare services. Dr. Keita recently served as a GHA Intern in the Monitoring and Evaluation role with previous experience working with several US and UN organizations on Health Systems Strengthening projects such as the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, USAID, WHO, Maternity Care Coalition, among others. A Fulbright Scholar and Mandela Washington Civic Leadership Fellow, Dr. Keita is a graduate of Georgia State University’s School of Public Health (MPH), École Nationale de Médecine et de Pharmacie du Mali, Mali (MD) and additionally completed graduate certificates from Georgia State University (Maternal and Child Health) and McGill University’s Institute of Global Health, Canada (Health Systems Strengthening and Global Governance).

Bwalya Mubanga

Monitoring, Evaluation & Learning Advisor 

Bwalya Mubanga has extensive experience operating in various roles within USAID-funded projects, including Director of Monitoring and Evaluation/Government Liaison Officer for USAID/DATA Rising, Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning Advisor for USAID/AGIS, and Monitoring and Evaluation Specialist for USAID/Access for All. He contributed to successful proposals for projects such as USAID/Databanks, Lifeline International-Suicide Prevention, and National HIV/AIDS/STI Council. Additionally, he participated in regional meetings and data collection activities as part of the national team representing Zambia at Southern African Development Community (SADC). He has a Postgraduate qualification from Stellenbosch University with a minor in Monitoring and Evaluation and Research.

Irene Nafula Wasike

Freelance Data Specialist  

Irene Nafula Wasike is a licensed Public Health Officer with experience in both Research and Monitoring & Evaluation. Her professional background spans engagements with various organizations where she supported field studies, community health initiatives, and evidence-based program development. Irene’s public health background encompasses a wide array of initiatives, including community health diagnosis, implementing school health programs, WASH (Water, Sanitation and Hygiene) activities, environmental health initiatives, and performing public health inspections. She has effectively supported research projects by conducting literature reviews, executing data collection, performing transcription and delivering detailed reports. Irene is passionate about advocating for the needs of marginalized and underserved populations, championing community-informed and community-centered health interventions and believes in the power of evidence-based decision-making and policy advocacy to promote equity in global health. Her work is underpinned by a commitment to public health excellence. Irene previously served as a Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning (MEL) Intern at Global Health Action.

David Oluwasegun Adepoju is an innovative and results-driven public health and eHealth professional from Ogbomoso, Oyo State, Nigeria. With an MSc in Epidemiology from the University of Port Harcourt and a B.Tech (Hons) in Biochemistry from Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, he is currently pursuing a Postgraduate Diploma in Information Technology at the National Open University of Nigeria.David brings extensive experience in digital health solutions, monitoring and evaluation, and field supervision across multiple health initiatives, including HIV/AIDS, reproductive health, and COVID-19 vaccination programs. He is highly proficient in DHIS2, ODK, Power BI, R, and SQL, and has a proven track record of optimizing health data systems, developing dashboards, and enhancing reporting accuracy. As CoFounder of AllConnect PubHealth, David has implemented health development projects impacting thousands of individuals across Nigeria..

Austin Adugbe

Augustine Adugbe, MPH, PMP, MBA (Expected 2027), is a project management and Project Management Office (PMO) expert with over seven years of experience driving strategic execution across professional services, public health, and nonprofit sectors. He currently serves as West Africa PMO Resourcing Lead at Deloitte, where he supports regional leadership through workforce planning, operational strategy, and performance reporting across multi-market portfolios. Augustine specializes in translating strategy into measurable outcomes; strengthening governance, optimizing resources, and enabling data-driven decision-making.

Nancwat Israel Dashe

Dashe Nancwat Israel is a multifaceted impact professional currently driving digital fundraising initiatives at GHA. Bringing a robust background in program management, strategic advocacy, and Social and Behavioural Change (SBC), he approaches fundraising with a holistic understanding of how to drive sustainable organizational growth. At GHA, Dashe leverages data-driven online strategies and behavioural insights to design compelling digital campaigns that shift perspectives, deeply engage donors, and mobilize critical resources for the organization’s vital mission.

Pham Hien

Monitoring, Evaluation & Learning Intern

Pham Van Hien is a Public Health Data Specialist with over 10 years of experience managing global and national health databases. Currently serving as a Data Management and Analytics Consultant for the WHO Western Pacific Region, Hien specializes in Maternal, Newborn, and Child Health (MNCH) and nutrition indicators using advanced statistical tools. He holds a Master degree in Epidemiology and Health Statistics from Guangxi Medical University. Hien joined GHA to exchange knowledge with international colleagues and deepen his understanding of community-based work and engagement strategies.

Tajalseer El-Mubarak

Monitoring, Evaluation & Learning Intern

With a strong focus on evidence-based impact, Tajalseer El-Mubarak specializes in framework development, data collection tool design, and comprehensive impact reporting to ensure program accountability and effectiveness across humanitarian initiatives. Demonstrating a commitment to programmatic excellence, Tajalseer recently coordinated critical donor field missions for the Dutch Relief Alliance and led a project that secured first place in a Climate Action and Disaster Risk Reduction Fellowship program. Bringing a rigorous analytical approach shaped by a prior background as a Medical Laboratory and Teaching Assistant, Tajalseer uniquely integrates scientific methodology with complex project management, utilizing digital tools to optimize field data operations. Tajalseer holds a degree in Microbiology from the University of Science and Technology and has earned a Google Professional Certificate in Project Management. Having recently completed specialized Peace Responsiveness training through Interpeace, Tajalseer is actively preparing for an MBA with the ultimate goal of pursuing a PhD in International Development.

Jalene Guta

Maternal, Newborn and Child Health Intern

Janelle Guta is a medical doctor with a strong interest in maternal, newborn, and child health as well as Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR). She has experience working in clinical and community-based health projects in Ethiopia, with a focus on improving health outcomes in underserved populations. She has also been involved in women’s empowerment, youth engagement, and health advocacy initiatives. Through her internship at Global Health Action, she aims to strengthen her skills in global health and contribute to improving maternal and child health programs.

Olorunyomi Fola-Oyetayo

Leadership and Organizational Development Intern

A medical doctor dedicated to strengthening health systems in low- and middle-income countries, Olorunyomi Fola-Oyetayo brings hands-on experience coordinating maternal-child health clinical trials and leading community health programs. She offers a thoughtful, people-first approach to evidence-based policy, combining strong analytical skills with a genuine commitment to improving outcomes for vulnerable and underserved populations. Grounded in honesty, empathy, and kindness, Olorunyomi believes that lasting health impact begins with truly listening to the communities being served. When she’s not exploring the different facets of global health, Olorunyomi can be found exploring African literature or quietly singing when she thinks no one’s listening.

Rose Muhoro

Digital Fundraising Intern

Rose Muhoro holds a BA in Communication and Media from Maseno University and a MA in International Studies from the University of Nairobi, Kenya. She devoted the past ten years to public service, acquiring experience in governance and public communication at the Kenya Revenue Authority and the Office of the Auditor-General. Her expertise is in converting technical policy documents into clear and comprehensible communication materials. Through these initiatives she grew tax literacy levels among ordinary citizens and university students in Kenya. Rose’s academic interests align with current global policy dilemmas: the intersection of digital health and Artificial Intelligence (AI), maternal health and menstrual equity, and the engagement of communities in complex health policies and messaging. Rose is pursuing a MPA to develop the strategic skills required for effective policy formulation and implementation.

Matthew Rapposelli

Health Policy, Research & Advocacy Intern

Matthew Rapposelli is currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Urban Studies and Molecular Environmental Biology at UC Berkeley. By merging these disciplines, he focuses his academic and research interests on public health and public policy. He currently applies his skills as a research associate at the Student Policy Institute at Berkeley, working with elected officials to contribute to student-led policy solutions that will translate into real-world legislation. Looking ahead, Matthew aims to bridge the gap between environmental science and community well-being by pursuing a dual master’s degree in public health and public policy.

Odion Judith Uzamere

Monitoring, Evaluation & Learning Intern

Odion Judith Uzamere is a Public Health professional with over five years of experience in immunization, primary healthcare strengthening, program coordination, and monitoring & evaluation in Nigeria. She holds two Masters degrees in Public Health from the University of Leeds and University of Benin, with her Public Health degree from the University of Benin focused on Family and Reproductive Health. Her work has focused on supporting evidence-based public health interventions, data-driven decision-making, health worker capacity building, and improving healthcare access in underserved communities. Odion is passionate about health equity, global health, and strengthening health systems through research, collaboration, and community engagement.

Elizabeth Wahu is a Monitoring Evaluation and Learning (MEL) practitioner from Nairobi, Kenya. She joins GHA as a summer MEL intern with a focus on learning community engagement in strengthening health systems to eventually contribute to strengthening health systems in her own country.
