About the Young Leaders Council Leadership
- Alyssa Goodman is presently serving as a pediatric emergency medicine fellow at Akron Children’s Hospital in Akron, Ohio. Simultaneously, she is in the final year of her Master of Public Health (MPH) program at the University at Albany, State University of New York. Hailing from upstate New York, Alyssa has acquired diverse professional experience having worked in various locations across the United States and internationally. Her professional interests lie in the realms of medicine and global public health, with a specific focus on the well-being of women and children.
- Busayo Ogunlusi is a passionate advocate for global health and a recent graduate of Emory College of Arts and Sciences, where she earned her bachelor’s degree in Human Health and in Global Health. Currently pursuing her master’s in Public Health at Emory Rollins School of Public Health, she specializes in Behavioral, Social, and Health Education Sciences. In 2021, Busayo made her mark as one of the first interns for Global Health Action, using her skills to build health stories by connecting with GHA alumni and leveraging their knowledge. Now CoChair of GHA’s Young Leaders Council, she strives to raise awareness about health issues worldwide as well as GHA’s contributions to numerous communities through the organization’s impactful initiatives.
- Alissar Moussallem, a clinically trained pharmacist with a Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree from Lebanese American University, is a recent graduate of the Master of Public Health (MPH) program at the EHESP, the National French School of Public Health. Serving as a research analyst specializing in the epidemiology of real-world evidence, Alissar brings a wealth of expertise to her current role. Notably, Alissar has a history with the Global Health Action (GHA) organization, having served as a Summer ’22 intern. She has since taken on the responsibility of co-leading the Young Leaders Council, showcasing her commitment to advancing global health initiatives and leadership development within the organization.
- Diego Serafin Martinez is a qualified medical professional holding an MD/MSPH, originally from Puebla, Mexico. He earned his medical degree from the Medical School of the Autonomous University of Puebla and holds a Master of Science degree in Public Health from Yang Ming Chiao Tung University in Taiwan. Additionally, Serafin Martinez possesses a Bachelor of Science degree in communication and public relations from the Universidad De Las Americas Puebla. His passion lies in developing health projects aimed at benefiting marginalized populations. He also has a keen interest in the evaluation and development of health policies, as well as improving health economics. Diego Serafin Martinez served as a Spring ’23 intern at Global Health Action and currently holds a position on the Young Leaders Council leadership team.
